Hello...New Year....New Name....Sorry for the Absence

Oh well.... months later and this is my first post since FOREVER!!!!

I am still in third grade and have the best class ever.

I have been so addicted to reading my google reader that I haven't felt the need to post.

Well a little update.....

1) I got married this summer. Now I am no longer Ms. S.....but Mrs. B :)

2) Bought a house and closed on it in June (a month before the wedding)

3) Went on a MAGICAL honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica...

4) Day after arriving back from honeymoon - where was I??? Oh at school - setting up my room.

5) Teaching 3rd grade and constantly called Ms. S or Mrs. B. And yes, I do just go by teacher.


This is my first FULL year as a classroom teacher. Going through South Carolina's SAFE-T and my district's induction period. I have 23 little minds that are ready to learn.

Duty Free Lunch?? A Special Treat? A Snack?

Solids, Liquids, Gases, Oh MY! from Lesson Plan SOS!

For the past two weeks, my class has been working on Matter & Solids, Liquids, and Gases!

We did experiments in class and Science Lab as well as watched a couple of Brain Pop Jr Videos.

While being a TBA, I saw a while back that Lesson Plan SOS (my fav!) had a culminating project about Solids, Liquids, and Gases! Once it was time to take down our Sponge Bob Fractions, I thought, let me Lesson Plan SOS my outside wall again with the Solids, Liquids, and Gases, Oh My!

Luckily, the past two years while finishing up Grad School, I had SAVED (or my fiance would say HOARDED) away my old Real Simple, Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart, Good Housekeeping, Woman's Day magazines that I would grab while in my spare time.

After going through all the magazines to take out all the unneccesary items, and the hundreds of free perfume samples (because we all know they would mess and want to smell like those! ha!), I was ready!

For two days, we spent time working on our SLG Booklets, while comparing it to the rubric that Lesson Plan SOS provided for FREE! so they knew what they needed in it for their grade.


Hard At Work

These turned out WONDERFUL and I cannot wait to use them again next year! All my hallmates think they are not only cute - but a fun way for the kids to learn. So I am "pimping" out Lesson Plan SOS on my blog & at my school for everyone to check out.

Another Weekend Flies By...

Another Weekend Flies on By While Summer inches closer & closer.

This week my students will be going on a Field Trip this Friday and I am taking a personal day on Wednesday since it is the fiance's Spring Break [gotta get some wedding stuff done & look into possibly acquiring a house???]

And next weekend I am having my FIRST Bridal Shower!!!! Bring on The Love from my friends & their gifts for my new life :)
